No Regrets

There were times

I walked through recall

With a sharp digger

In the hands

of my yearning

To exhume values

Of time past,

But I dug in vain.

They were things

I wanted to have,

Where and what

I wanted to be,

And what I wanted to

Stick with for a lifetime,

But which slid through

My fingers like grains of millet

and fused with history.

Taken away.

With them, I could have

A different life.

Perhaps better than

What I have now.

And my mind kept whispering

To me about what

I should have done right.

If I did this instead of that,

I could have gotten it right.

But that’s history too.

All I have is now

to get things right,

Change what

I couldn’t change.

And shun the voices

Dragging me into the void

to relive history the same way.

I should have regrets,

But of what use

Is going back and forth ?

Whatever didn’t work

Might work if I tried again.

But I must not go

 through the same

Process on

that same road

Which led to nothing.

No regrets.

If You Are Like Me, You Must Write Daily To Keep Writing

Hello my WP friend. How are you doing? I hope you are safe and happy. It has been wonderful having you around to read my posts and like and comment to cheer me on. I’m grateful for the time you spend each day on my blog. I am thankful for every second, minute, hour, day, week, year, years tof this blogging experience with you to support and make me feel good about myself and my writing. Thank You.❤

During this past year of blogging, I learned something about myself and my writing. I found out that writing daily keeps my writing inspiration alive. This means that I must write and post daily to keep writing. Any day I failed to put something down on my blank sheet, it would take weeks or even months for me to write ( post again). This is a simple truth.

To explain this further, assuming I’m so busy in a day with other things that I couldn’t find time to write, it would take long for me to write again.

This explains the long pause on my blog sometimes. Long pause means I fail to write a post in a day and eventually exhaust my scheduled post and left with nothing but a blocked head or writer’s block.

Writing daily prevents writer’s block for me and not writing everyday nourishes, i sit to write, nothing comes to mind. I search for topics and read other posts, nothing. The word flow is gone. Nothing to do.

In May, I started a personal writing challenge on my blog to write haiku daily for thirty days, I couldn’t complete the challenge🙈 even though I forced myself to complete it. I was doing well until I missed on day and the rest were history. I was able to complete 15 days without a stop though.

Making daily post is hard with so many commitments. However, I need to force writing into my daily to do list. I usually write better in the early hours of the morning when the mind is well rested and ready.

I encourage you to write everyday.

Anniversary – Four Years On WordPress

It’s a season of celebration and on this day too for my journey on WordPress began. I discovered WordPress through an ad I saw on a website. Clicking on that add was a turning point for me. Before that encounter, I was already learning to blog on blogspot.com, a good place to be as well. When I discovered WordPress, I discovered the secret to successful blogging, which I, of course, learned through my interaction with other bloggers.

Generally, life can be hard without friends. The same goes with blogging. No one can ever last as a blogger without other bloggers to interact with. Bloggers learn from each other by reading each other’s posts and commenting.

It’s not easy to keep blogging especially when it’s not a main source of income. I get mostly distracted easily by work and family life. When I get carried away by these and other aspects of my life, reading other people’s posts inspire me a lot and help get me back on track. I would say to myself, if this blogger could write a post or several posts in a day or week, why can’t I do the same?

To make the long story short, I am still here because of you my fellow bloggers. The inspiration I get from your writing and the encouragement I get from having you read and interact with my posts is priceless.

I want to use this opportunity to thank everyone of you who is following me and who engage with my posts in any way. Thank you for being there, always reading and leaving useful comments.

I give all glory to the Almighty God, for giving me a rich mind and for the grace to keep writing. To Him I give praise.

On-going Project

I’m still working on my novel. I have three chapters left to rewrite after which it will be due for external editing. I’m not sure how long the editing will take but it’s sure to be available soon.🙏.

Fiez-Writer | To My WP Friends As Well As My Readers All Over The World🙂❤

Hello, my WP friend and readerI hope you’re doing great wherever you are.

Sorry, I’ve not been able to make my daily posts as I usually do ( to my fellow bloggers and writers, sorry I’ve not read some of your inspiring and fun posts for quite some time). It’s all due to a lot of things going on in my life right now.

Apart from the ENDSARS Campain which has gone really bad and has kept me wondering what kind of leaders we have, I’m working hard on my NOVEL, which I’m hoping to publish latest by January.

My heart still bleeds for those youths killed in my country, at Lekki and all over the nation, when they were peacefully protesting against a brutal and corrupt system. I feel for the families of the victims.

So, I beg of you my friend, bear with me right now.

I hope to pick up with my daily posting and reading of your posts, when possible.

I hope your own country is doing well, apart from the covid-19 wahala, of course, which I hear is at an increase. Please protect yourself and your loved ones. Don’t fall a victim.

Have a blessed week.❤❤
